The Language Centre at the University is seeking a professional and organized evening receptionist to provide a warm welcome to our language learners and staff. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for inquiries and will be responsible for ensuring smooth access to the building, providing directions to new visitors, and handling any posts or deliveries. They will also work closely with the Facilities Management and Security teams to address any issues with the building and will ensure that the building is empty and secure before leaving at the end of the day.

Duties and responsibilities

In addition to reception duties, the evening receptionist will also be part of our administrative team and will be responsible for completing administrative tasks as needed. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent relevant experience and should be confident in using the Microsoft Office suite. The successful candidate should also be willing to learn to use the specific IT systems used by the administrative team for tasks such as timetabling and course bookings.

  • What are the hours for the evening receptionist position?

The evening receptionist position is available for weeks 1-8 of the three terms of the University year, Monday to Thursday, from 4:15 pm to 7:15 pm (12 hours per week). This position includes bank holidays that fall within term time.
