What are the Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in planning and coordination of the Environmental Services department to ensure that the health care facility is thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
- Develops workflow patterns and prepare cleaning schedules.
- Develops employee work schedules to maintain adequate daily staffing.
- Assists in department quality assurance activities and reporting.
- Supervises the performance of department employees.
- Completes and delivers employee performance reviews.
- Coordinates employee staff meetings and may hold daily department huddles.
- Conducts employee coaching and corrective action process as needed.
- Resolves employee conflict.
- May develop resource manuals for the department.
- Orders and manages supplies, linen, and equipment as needed.
- Evaluates new supplies and equipment.
- Manages and records expenses keeping all purchases within budget.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation.
- May monitor hazardous waste disposal process.
- Acts as a liaison with facility department managers and coordinators in providing environmental services.
- Assists with the hiring of new employees to the department including reviewing applications and participating in interviews.
- Provides orientation to new department staff.
- Arranges continued department education and training.
- Processes time cards each pay period.
- Other duties as assigned.
